I'M PART OF THE DONORS AND I'M A HUMAN BLOOD BAG. ------------------------------------------------- Originally I didn’t want to be a donor. It just sort of, fell into my lap. The ballet company I was out ran out of money and was forced to close. Suddenly I didn’t have a way to make money anymore. I grew up loving dance, had a passion for it since I was a kid. My parents supported me throughout my choices, and my older brother seemed to enjoy the fact that I had found something to love. He was looking to be a writer, and occasionally used me for his inspiration or as an idea for his stories. I told him I wanted to be the first to know when became a famous writer. I went to the company when I was eighteen and have been there for three years. Unfortunately things went downhill quickly, and I was suddenly out of a job or a way to practice my craft. I decided to head to Revival one night just to get out of my apartment and get some fresh air. I had energy to burn. That’s where I met him, the vampire I donate my blood to now. Honestly, I had no idea that vampires even existed until I stepped into the club. I had read about them in books and seen them in movies, but I just thought it was a fairytale. I was terrified when I first met him and learned about his secret. Although he didn’t make it obvious or say it out loud, I must have been the only one that looked terrified in a club. I explained my situation to him and my worries for money, not to mention how I was going to tell my family. He seemed to listen intently, gathering as much info as possible that I could give him. At the offer he was insistent that I become his donor. The idea made my stomach twist, but the idea of his money sounded good to me. I needed it. He left me his card and told me to give a call when I made my decision. It was probably three days I was tossing the job offer through my mind. I suddenly saw the word in a different way. At night I didn’t leave my apartment, wondering about the other vampires that were out on the street. I wasn’t sure what to do. I needed the money, desperately. I was falling behind in rent. I called him and asked to meet with him. From the sound of his voice, he seemed confident that I would take his offer. I took his job under one condition, I didn’t want my family to know that I was going to be a donor for a vampire. He agreed. What he failed to tell me was that I was his first donor. He had plenty of familiars, but no donors. Since I was the first and only for a whole year he used me quite often. In the beginning it took some adjusting, the blood drinking was painful, but not so much anymore. I engage in intimate activities with him, but that I still haven’t adjusted to. He gives me a place to live, feeds me, gives me clothes, I just don’t go anywhere without him. The life of a donor isn’t all the glamorous, but I needed the money. I have a place to live now and I make money. I guess that’s all that really matters in this economy. |
