I'M PART OF THE HUMANS AND I'M A POLICE DETECTIVE. ------------------------------------------------- All my life I've wished for what, in my mind, is the perfect life. A wife, a good job, the possible future of a family. And now, I have just that, and it's the greatest thing I could have ever asked for. I even got my dream job, though I don't think I ever imagined myself with such a job. Either way, I have all I want, and all I've ever wanted for my life. My parents were average, my mother being a teacher while my dad worked in an office building, often staying late hours for more than just a couple days, so I would often find myself home alone. Oh, yes, did I mention I'm an only child? In some ways, I'm glad for such a thing, but in others, I do wish I could have felt the sibling bond people get to feel with their own siblings. But, then again, without siblings, I had more peace in the house than my friends who had siblings. The years passed by rather quickly, school never seeming to be much of a hassle when it came right down to the school work. No, the one thing I was concerned with through my high school career was the law enforcement. True, my parents tended to think it was a bit strange that a seven year old was so fascinated with out the police department worked, how they did things to get the job done. But there was just something I saw in how they worked and what they stood for that just always kept my interest. After my high school career had ended, I enrolled myself in the ranks of the New York Police Academy, much to the dismay of my parents, for they had never really wanted me to be in the line of fire like any police officer was. But I wanted to follow my dream, so I did what I had to do. I went through the tests, faced the obstacles, and much to my delight, I passed. Not long after I had graduated from the Academy at the age of twenty, I soon found a job at a police station in the lower regions of New York, doing routine patrols day in and day out. Of course there was the occasional robbery or stand down between a few gangs here and there, but I never really amounted to more than that for a couple years. But that was before I got a promotion. That was two years ago, and now I live in upstate New York with my wife, the woman I meet not even a day after my promotion, and ever since then, I've been with her, having proposed to her a year after meeting her. My life is pleasant, having everything I've wanted. My career is going well so far, and lately, I've been given bigger cases than I'm normally used to, but it's worth it just to continue doing what I've always loved to do. |
