WARRINGTON HEY THERE, THEY CALL ME SAM AND I'M CURRENTLY NINETEEN YEARS OLD. I'M PART OF THE HUMANS AND I'M A STUDENT. ------------------------------------------------- my life isn't really anything special, i suppose. the most interesting thing that happened to me was probably the day i was born. i guess. oh, i'm a natural redhead if that counts as interesting. my childhood was quite ordinary, i suppose. i was born in a town called ridgewood in new jersey, and i lived there for about six or seven years. i honestly don't remember which. i was that kid on the block that always seemed to get into trouble somehow. my mother felt bad when i hurt myself, but she would always scold me because apparently i never listened to her warnings. i just ... went ahead and did what i wanted. other mothers kept their children away from me because of this. i suppose it would have been annoying at the time, if i hadn't been too young to understand the difference. besides, mom said i played just fine by myself when i had to. there was this little boy she said i played with a lot, his name was reed or something musical like that. anyway when i was six or seven or whichever, my parents got divorced. even that is sort of uninteresting given the times. most people get divorced ... i remember it was some sort of percentage like 80% or even as high as 90%. it wasn't even a particularly violent or angry divorce. i mean, mom fought with dad but they never threw things and only ever yelled a few times. dad still lives in ridgewood, but mom took me and moved here, to this strange town. i see dad on holidays- my parents can get together for a little while. but anyway- strange town. i mean strange in the terms of ... dark. it's like the town breathes secrets. i tried to tell this to my mom but she just waves it off as teenage imagination. yeah, maybe it is. i've always had some sort of an imagination that gives way to a witty tongue. it's weird, though, because i'm blunt and sarcastic- too dull to even call ironic. it doesn't matter much, because i can talk all i want but only those who truly care will listen. and those who truly care don't mind how i talk. i wouldn't say i'm a goody-two-shoes, nor would i say i am a troubled teen. i go to the clubs sometimes, i party on the weekends. my grades have always been average, and i've never failed a class. sometimes i drink, and i've had pot maybe three or four times ever. i like cigarettes, they help me think. but i don't smoke a pack a day. i have vices, and i have virtues. i am tempermental, but i am honest. i'm nothing special. |
